Got a call from Manipal Hospital, HAL today morning.
A 29-year-old battling leukemia urgently needed platelets, and I was an exact match.

Having donated platelets there a few months back, I was part of their donor list.

I would have donated again without hesitation, but I had just given blood (volunteer donation) a few weeks ago.

Since there’s a mandatory 4-week waiting period after blood donation before you can donate platelets, I couldn’t help this time.

Here’s the bottom line: We need more donors.
